Who We Are!
Lars Holmquist – Creator of the Original AGA – The Air Group Alliance, a multi-year effort to provide a network of “Virtual” airlines and airline routes for Flight Simulator enthusiasts. Mr. Holmquist, of Danish Nationality, is a Metallurgical Engineer specializing in non-ferrous metals. He currently lives in Guayaquil, Ecuador and has lived and worked in countries like Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Colombia and now Ecuador. Lars is a shareholder in a non-ferrous smelter in Guayaquil and owner of a Consultant company, also in Guayaquil and has flown with flightsim for the many years. Lars started AGA in 1990. In real life Lars started to fly/travel with Convair 440, DC3, DC4, DC6B and DC7C, when a flight from Copenhagen to Lima took 48 hours. The route was: Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Shannon, Gander, Montreal, Miami, Curacao, Cartagena, Panama, Guayaquil, Talara and then Lima. Today, Lars’ is now retired, and AGA is now changing it’s scope to complement the latest FS9 and FSX simulation hobbyists. Steve
Korin Steve Korin – Designer of the New AGA, bringing real-world airline schedules and historical airlines to life for Flight Simulator hobbyists. Mr. Korin, is a retired Middle School history teacher of 32 years. He lives in Long Island, NY. Today, Steve also has real-world experience in single engine aircraft, and has been an active flight simulation hobbyist, creating two entire “Virtual” airline websites. Now retired, Steve currently volunteers at the American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale, LI, NY. Having enjoyed the friendship he and Mr. Holmquist developed as a result of the Flight Simulation hobby, he has dedicated his efforts to keep AGA alive, for their mutual enjoyment and the enjoyment of Flight Simulation enthusiasts. AGA demonstrates what people of diverse backgrounds and from diverse cultures can accomplish when they put their hands together in the spirit of friendship. It is hoped that those who enjoy our efforts can do so with the spirit of international brotherhood. Our Motto: |
