Introduction
Tegel Berlin Airport (TXL) is one of three airports serving the German capital city of Berlin, with the majority of its routes linking Western European destinations.
Located just five miles (8 kms) northwest of Berlin, the Berlin Tegel Airport is well connected to Berlin by road and rail. Road travel to Berlin city centre takes around 15 minutes, with regular trains and Jet Express buses, taxi and car hire firms also servicing Tagel Berlin Airport.
The terminal building at Tegel Berlin Airport offers many traveller services including several banks, shops, bureaux de change, medical and special needs facilities. Tegel Berlin Airport also offers first-class business and conference facilities, ample parking and transport options.
Berlin airport development plans will see expansion of Schönefeld Airport under which Tegel and Tempelhof Airports are scheduled to close, sometime around 2008. The new Airport will be called Berlin-Brandenburg Airport.
