Train Services
Airport Express
HKG airport offers travellers the chance to use the Airport Express, a fast and convenient railway service that runs between the airport and Hong Kong island. The train station is in the Ground Transportation Centre. The Airport Express stops opposite Level 7 on its way in from the city centre so that passengers may step off the train and go straight to check-in. The train runs between 6:30am and 1:30am, at 10-minute intervals. Travel time to or from downtown Hong Kong is 23 minutes; a check in service for air passengers operates at Hong Kong and Kowloon stations; from these two stations bus shuttles run to most major hotels.
Bus Services
Airbuses and Local Buses
There is a bus station by one side of the Ground Transportation Centre. Numerous bus-routes serve the airport. "A" (Airbus) buses offer speedy links to many parts of the city, including destinations in Hong Kong island, Kowloon and the New Territories. "E" (external) buses serve commuter traffic. "N" buses operate in the night-time. "S" (shuttle) routes run short services around and about the airport. "DB" services are heading to and from Discovery Bay on nearby Lantau island.
Cross Boundary Tour Coach Services (Long Distance)
The Airport Tour Coach station is located on the same side of the Ground Transportation Centre as the bus station and is operational between 6:30 am and 7:30pm. From this major hub regular services go to and come from Guangdong province.
Limousine Services
Limousine services operate to and from the airport. Service counters may be found in the Arrivals hall or the Ground Transportation Centre.
Taxis
Taxi ranks are located beside the Ground Transportation Centre on the other side from the bus stations. Different colour taxis serve different destinations. Red (urban) taxis may take their passengers anywhere in Hong Kong (including the airport) except south Lantau and Tung Chung Road. Green (New Territories) taxis go to and from only the New Territories, some places in Lantau, and the airport's Ground Transportation Centre. Blue (Lantau) taxis go to and from Lantau and the airport.
Taxis are not permitted to go to Discovery Bay. Taxi passengers using the Lantau Link are required to pay an additional fare, twice the single toll for taxis, irrespective of the direction of travel. Light personal hand baggage (no greater than 140 cm in total dimensions) is carried free of charge inside the compartment.
Ferry Service
The ferry operates between Chek Lap Kok and Tuen Mun, an area in the New Territories north of the airport. The service runs from 6:00am to 11:00pm. There is a bus service from the passenger terminal to the ferry pier.
