Introduction
Houston Hobby Airport (HOU) is Houston’s second airport, providing domestic flights to over 60 US cities. Houston William P Hobby airport flies close to 10 million passengers annually, serving seven scheduled airlines. Located approximately seven miles south of downtown Houston, near Interstate 45 / Gulf Freeway, HOU serves the wider Houston-Clear Lake-Galveston area.
HOU has formerly been known as Houston Municipal Airport and Howard Hughes Airport, and was renamed William P Hobby Airport in 1967. Hobby airport has three passenger terminals offering amenities including currency exchange booth, cash machines, food court, news and gift shops, information center, disabled-friendly services and a USO center.
Houston Hobby Airport provides 4,000 parking spaces with a four-level garage connected to the terminal building. Ground transportation options to downtown Houston include scheduled shuttle bus services, Houston metro public bus service, rental cars, taxis and hotel courtesy vans.
