Introduction
Jackson Airport (JAN) is located five miles from central Jackson and operates non-stop between ten cities daily, serving over one million passengers each year. Jackson-Evers International Airport hosts nine scheduled airlines including American Eagle, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Comair, Continental Express and Delta airlines.
The two concourse terminal at Jackson-Evers International Airport has six flight gates. Amenities for the passengers at JAN airport include three restaurants and bars, a gift shop, baggage claim counter, car rental agencies and assistance for disabled passengers. A free shuttle links the car parks to the terminal building. Formerly known as Jackson Municipal Airport Authority, JAN airport recently gained international status and since then has been operating as a Foreign Trade Zone as well. Jackson International Airport is also used as a major alternate cargo distribution hub.
