London Heathrow Airport Security

Introduction

Increased security measures are in operation in UK airports, though since 2001 check-in and flight delays have not increased significantly. Your airline can advise on check-in deadlines, but you should aim to arrive at least three hours before departure for international flights, two hours for European flights and an hour for UK and Ireland flights.

Help for Stranded Travellers

The information desks in each terminal are operated by BAA Heathrow. Information desks in Terminal 1 are available in the arrivals concourse, in Terminal 2, main arrivals / departures area, in Terminal 3, arrivals and departures and in Terminal 4, in the arrivals concourse.

Passenger help points can be found throughout the Heathrow Airport (LHR) in locations such as terminal forecourts, car parks and baggage reclaim halls.
