Madrid Barajas Airport Shuttles, Taxis and Trains
Bus
Terminals 1,2 and 3 have bus services running to and from them and the following services go from Terminals 1 and 2: 101, 200 and 824. The Intercity Bus route 822 runs to Terminal 1 only and the long distance service to Salamanca also goes to and from Madrid Airport’s Terminal 1.
Shuttle Bus
There is a free passenger transit service between Madrid International Airport’s five terminals. Four different routes run throughout the day and night, stopping at different terminals, as specified below:
- Terminal 1 and 4 only
- Terminals 1,2 and 3 only
- Terminals 1,2,3 and 4 only
- Terminals 1,2 and 4 only.
The shuttle bus runs 24 hours and going from Terminal 1 to Terminal 4 it stops on the departures level of Terminals 1, 2 and 4 and from Terminal 4 to Terminal 1 it stops on the arrivals level of Terminals 2,3 and 4 and the Departures Level of Terminal 1.
Taxi
Passengers should take Taxis from the ground floor (arrivals level) of each terminal. The operate on a price per kilometre basis and there is an extra charge for journeys beginning or ending at Madrid Airport.
Underground
Nuevos Ministerios is the main transport hub for Madrid International Airport and over fifty underground stations are accessible from this point. Lines 6, 8 and 10 all run to and from the station; Line 8 stops at Terminals 2 (first floor) and 4 (-1 floor).
Train
No direct services run on the Spanish Railway Network (RENFE) to Madrid Barajas but their services are easily accessible by taking the underground.
Suburban Trains
A number of suburban trains link to the underground network and at the following stations connections can be made: Atocha RENFE, Embajadores, La Laguna, Aluche, Nuevos Ministerios, Príncipe Pío, Pitis, Recoletos, Méndez Álvaro, Vallecas and Vicálvaro.
